ADVANCING THE ASIA-PACIFIC NETWORK OF INTEROPERABLE VOLUNTARY CARBON MARKETS

FinCity.Tokyo is pleased to host the “ABAC Sustainable Finance Seminar“, an event dedicated to promoting integrated decarbonization efforts across the Asia-Pacific region. This seminar is based on the initiatives of the “ABAC Pathfinder Initiative“, which aims to establish a network of interoperable Voluntary Carbon Markets (VCM) across the Asia-Pacific region and facilitate the realization of cross-border carbon credit trading.

This initiative is being carried out under the endorsemen of the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC), the only official private-sector advisory body within APEC, and with the cooperation of leading corporations and international organizations from nine APEC member economies.

This seminar seeks to introduce the efforts of this initiative and provide the latest updates on Voluntary Carbon Markets (VCM) in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region to stakeholders from Japan and abroad. It aims to foster deeper discussions on how the Asia-Pacific region and Japan can benefit from and contribute more actively to advancing integrated decarbonization efforts.
