FinCity.Tokyo Ambassador Jesper Koll has been researching and investing in Japan since becoming a resident in 1986. Over the past two decades, Jesper has been consistently recognized as one of the top Japan strategists/economists, having worked as Chief Strategist and Head of Research for U.S. investment banks J.P. Morgan and Merrill Lynch. He currently serves as Expert Director for the Monex Group and the Japan Catalyst Fund (Japan’s 1st retail investor based corpo- rate engagement/activist fund). His analysis and insights have earned him a position on several Japanese government and corporate advisory committees, including Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike’s Advisory Board. In 2022, he was appointed Global Ambassador for Tokyo’s Financial Center initiative.

Riza Okada is the Head of APAC for the Client Solutions team at Capstone Japan Limited having joined the firm in 2024. Most recently, Riza was a Director in the Investor Relations team at Capula Investment Management where he oversaw the expansion of the Japan office from 2016 to 2023. Riza joined Capula from Goldman Sachs Asset Management where he was a Vice President within the Alternative Investments and Manager Selection (AIMS) group from 2009 to 2016. Prior to this Riza held the role Product Specialist at Société General Asset Management between 2007 and 2009. Riza began his career in the financial services industry as a Fixed Income analyst at Bloomberg in 2006.

Albert is a Managing Director at Eurazeo within the Venture team, based in Singapore. He is leading a $200M fund looking at growth stage opportunities across Asia, focusing on Series B and C companies in fintech and insurtech. He has experience both operating and investing into tech companies in Asia, particularly Southeast Asia, over 15 years, including the past 10 years as a VC where he led investments across various tech sectors, including fintech, ecommerce/O2O, proptech, and logistics. Previously, Albert was a Managing Director at Burda Principal Investments where he led the Singapore office for 5 years. Prior to this he was a Principal at GREE Ventures, where he eventually led the investment team in Southeast Asia and India. He also has worked at Lazada Group (Alibaba-acquired ecommerce company), as an entrepreneur (ecommerce), and as a management consultant at Monitor Group. He completed his MBA at the University of California, Berkeley and did his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania.

CJ holds the position of Managing Director and Head of Japan at Fiera Asia, where he is tasked with expanding the firm’s presence in Japan and strengthening existing relationships within the market.
CJ is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in the asset management industry, particularly focusing on Asia and the Emerging Markets, with a special emphasis on Japan. Before joining Fiera Asia, CJ served as a Partner at Sloane Robinson Asset Management, where he played a significant role in launching and managing emerging markets and frontier funds. Prior to that, he held the position of Managing Director at JP Morgan Asset Management, where he successfully managed a high performing long short fund. Additionally, he served as Managing Director at Merrill Lynch, overseeing emerging equity sales and sales trading. CJ’s extensive career also includes roles at James Capel, where he worked as Director for foreign equity sales in Tokyo, Japan, catering to Japanese institutional clients investing in Europe and Asia.
His educational background includes graduation from Westminster School with a Japanese Missionary Language Institute Diploma. CJ’s language proficiency is impressive, being fluent in Japanese and French, and conversational in Portuguese and Spanish.

After working in various financial roles, including corporate financing, bond investment, and new product development at both Japanese and foreign financial institutions, Sayuri joined a Japanese venture capital firm in 2020. There, she was responsible for executing investments and providing portfolio support in the hard tech sector, including clean tech and ag tech. Since March 2024, she has been with Pangaea Ventures, where her work involves investment activities and supporting their portfolios. Additionally, she is involved in creating new frameworks to facilitate the overseas expansion of Japanese startups. She graduated from the University of Tokyo with a BA in Economics.
